Elizabeth's New Toy
Elizabeth got a new "toy", a Panini press.  She is a very good cook and loves almost anything that is associated with the kitchen.

While it is Elizabeth's toy, I am the one who benefits from it.  One day she made a wonderful chicken Panini sandwich with home made fries and a green salad.  Yum!!!

As long as I am adding pictures of meals, here is last night's supper, shepherd's pie.  It too was very good.  It is one of my favorites.  I needed it as yesterday was a physical therapy day.  The therapist really works my shoulder over on PT days.

After running some errands we returned home and I had a big mug of salted caramel hot chocolate topped with whipped cream and fall colored sprinkles.  A day with a high temperature in the mid 90's is not a typical hot chocolate day, but it was still good.

Sept 14
I continue to recover.  My shoulder is getting better.  I just started to drive again so Elizabeth no longer has to serve as a Chauffer.  Some days I do too much and my shoulder reminds me it still has some healing to do.
On Sept 14 we spent the afternoon in League City.  We spend some time just walking around a very nice park.

There were all sots of animals and birds.

I guess Elizabeth is still a kid at heart

We also stopped at an old cemetery.
This "statue" in actually a tree that grew on that spot before it was carved.

Here are a couple of additional event we plan to attend

After having a snack in the park we stopped at a nearby Garden Ridge Pottery store.
There is a Christmas tree forest inside the store.  I will pass on my usual rant of having Christmas stuff out in mid September.  I do understand the need to have craft stuff out early but do the trees really need to be displayed this early?

Elizabeth wanted to look at Halloween supplies

And she found one she liked.

After that we went home and rested.

In the evening we went to a local theater to see the play "A Flea in Her Ear".
It was a very nice day.

Pictures from surgery
Nothing too graphic.  Below is a picture of me at the hospital before surgery.  Don't I look nervous.  I was.
After surgery I felt much more relaxed.
We stopped at Ben and Jerry's for some "medicine"
Three small incisions.  The band aides are Angry Bird, Star Trek.
I couple of days after surgery I woke to find a huge bruise on my right arm.  When we went to see the surgeon he said that was normal.  It would have been nice if he had told us that first.

I continue to recover.  Like most things I have good days and not so good days.  The not so good days always follow days of doting too much.  Just sitting and healing is not something I am real good at doing.  Elizabeth has been such a support through all this.  I do not know what I would have done without her.

Thank you Elizabeth and thanks to all who have supported us through this.
