Happy Easter to all.
While it has been a while since I last posted things are going well here. Elizabeth seems to have recovered from her infection. Last week we went to see a new doctor. This one is a specialist in internal medicine. He seemed very nice and really took the time to listen to Elizabeth and what she was going through. Like all doctor's he had some blood samples taken and we will see how things go from there.
I too seem to be doing better. However my flare up takes a while to settle down. Things seem to be going good it is just wait and see. The bad news is my system would not calm down without a little help from my old friend, a dose of steroids. I was hoping it would not require that since they do damage my bones every time I have to take them. But is it better than throwing up all the time.
Today I got up and had my first breakfast. I had a bagel with cream cheese, a banana and a bottle of Ensure. Then I went for a bike ride. The main route from Houston to Galveston is Interstate highway 45. In addition to the main lanes there is an access road on either side of the highway. I rode the access road part of the way, about 20 miles down and 20 back. Going down I rode directly into a strong wide. My average speed for 20 miles was 13 and a half miles per hour. Coming back with the same wind directly to my back I averaged just over 20. Once home I had breakfast 2. This included a scrambled egg, one slice of turkey bacon and toast. Then I showered and got ready for church. Like most churches on Easter, it was crowded. Here is a picture of us dressed for Easter.
Once we got home we had lunch. I had a light one including a PB and J sandwich some chips and baked cinnamon apples. Now a quick blog update before an afternoon visit from my daughter Bridget and her daughter Karma.
