In previous posts, I like the way you unabashadly talk about the naps you and your wife take. My British mother-in-law apparently said to her South African husband in the early stages of their marriage: "grown men don't nap".....so the poor guy never took one, unless it was while sunning himself on a deck chair by the family swimming pool or falling asleep reading the paper! My mother often took a nap in the afternoon in West Virginia where I was raised (with 5 children in a space of 8 years, I don't blame her!), but unfortunately, I am often doing the school pick-up (car) run in the afternoons. School buses are few & far between in S Africa and driver's licenses are only issued at age 18. Some walk to & from school, but many drive 10-30 min one-way to attend 'better' schools (either public or private) like us (our private high school fees are similar to college tuition! So, we can't wait til both of our teens are in college/univ as then our finances will ease up! Can you believe it?!) So, any chance of a nap is only at weekends or holidays....unless daughter needs driven somewhere..... And as for your age: it's funny what perspective does -- a couple years ago I was teaching English to a 10 yr old Dutch girl here and she announced that her dad was having a birthday and that he was "SO OLD"...to which I asked "how old is he?" (thinking he might be some kind of older-generation type dad in his 60s or 70s). She said he was turning 51....to which I said in mock horror "NO!"....but she nodded up & down saying "YES!". I had just turned 51 myself not long before this conversation....but to her, I probably appeared to be in my late 30s or early 40s!
