June 3 update
The last post was actually from Elizabeth. But she shamed me into providing my own update.
Things here have settled into a routine. For nearly two months I have been fighting a flare up of my colitis. At first it was pretty severe. The main symptom was periodic cramps followed by vomiting.  That is great for losing weight but little else.  My doctor put me on a round of steroids but I think she started at too low a dose.  That reduced the severity but did not push the disease back into remission.  We have been struggling since.  One thing we do is go back to a diet that is as low in fiber as possible.  That means back to about 12 ingredients.  Poor Elizabeth has been working so hard to make meals as tasty as possible while not aggravating the colitis.  I think we are getting a handle on it but it a slow process.

I have been riding my bike.  This morning I got up and ate then rode 47 miles.  When I got home I had my second breakfast, actually a mid-morning snack, showered and then we were off to run some errands.  These included stops at the library, car wash and bike store.  The car was dusty.  I know some areas have had a lot of rain recently but no there.  Currently we are more than a foot less rain than average.  While hot is not unusual for southeast Texas, it has been hotter than normal.  We have already had one day with temperatures above 100.  Today and tomorrow may see highs above the century mark again.  Worst of all there is no outlook for this to end.  Typically during the summer a high pressure system builds over Texas and stays there for weeks and weeks.  I am afraid the only thing that will get us back to “normal” is a hurricane and no one of them.

This weather is so strange.  Last week end I saw a robin.  They should be long gone by now.  I do not know what to think.

It is nearly lunch time so I will stop here.
